Dr. T.J. Buser is an associate dean, university professor, and board certified coach. He has authored 4 books and 30 articles on the topics of mindfulness, spirituality, cognitive style, family dynamics, group counseling, addictions, sexuality, and self-injury. He presents regularly at national conferences in the mental health field. 

As a board certified coach, Dr. Buser works with adolescents and adults. He has advanced training in solution-focused brief coaching, mindfulness-based applications, and strategies for overcoming anxiety. He is currently a professor at Naropa University, where he teaches mindfulness-based counseling at the graduate level. 

Additionally, Dr. Buser brings a dedicated focus on recovery coaching and addictions. He is past president of the International Association of Addictions and Offender Counselors. He is the former editor of the Journal of Addictions & Offender Counseling, a national journal affiliated with the American Counseling Association.

Previously, Dr. Buser worked as a college counselor, private practice counselor, healthcare consultant. He completed his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, a master's in divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, a master's in counseling from Wake Forest University, and a Ph.D. from Syracuse University.

Dr. Buser is a member of the American Counseling Association, International Association for Addictions and Offender Counselors, and the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including University Fellow at Syracuse University, Edward Howell Roberts Scholarship in Preaching at Princeton Theological Seminary, Thomas M. Elmore Outstanding Counseling Student Award at Wake Forest Univesity, and membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
